1. Animal Forecast

In the winter of 1975 in China snakes suddenly appeared on the ground abandoning their winter homes. The local residents treated this as nature's abnormality and evacuated their homes and left to a distant place. Soon after the residents left their homes, a massive earthquake that registered 7.3 on the Richter scale shook the place.

2. Animal Medicine

In Tanzania, people chew Aspilia leaves for stomach upsets. The leaves contain chemicals that are antibacterial and kill worms in the alimentary tract. Chimpanzees chew these leaves occasionally.

3. Animal Survival

In 2004 the Tsunami disaster killed thousands of people in Sri Lanka. But almost all local elephants and deer besides several other wild animals survived the Tsunami.

4. Animal Smell

The olfactory ability (sense of smell) is far more superior in animals than in man. Animals have a specialized scent organ located in the oral roof, called the Vomeronasal organ. This organ is a pit shaped structure lined by special cells that are connected to the Accessory olfactory bulb found only in animals. This organ is sensitive to odor molecules with a less volatile and more complex molecular structure. Man cannot smell these substances.

5. Animal Taste

Catfish have taste receptors all over their body. Strange it may seem the tongue of snakes has no taste receptors. Its function is to detect the prey by the heat produced from the body of the prey.
