Animal Zone: Paws of Paradise: Where Kamaʻāina K-9 Meets the Fur Angels of Oʻahu - Season 14, Episode 11


High above Honolulu, with sweeping views of Diamond Head and the Pacific blue, lies a canine paradise where tails never stop wagging. At Kamaʻāina K-9 Adventures, founder Maile Fong turned her love for animals and a favorite dog-walking spot into a joyful haven for pups of every shape and size. Here, water play, tug-of-war, and even “lick mats” (think peanut-butter spa day for tongues!) make every day feel like a vacation.


Partnering with Fur Angel Foundation, Maile’s team helps foster and rehome dogs who’ve faced tough beginnings. We meet Ed, who fell head-over-paws for his ten-pound foster Bella—now the tiny queen of a household of big dogs—and Lorie, who lovingly cares for paraplegic pups that roll through life with unshakable joy. Then there’s Nohea (“Heavenly Mist”), who introduces us to baby Cuddles, a reminder that love always finds its way back.


With over 850 adoptions and counting, these Fur Angels prove that in Hawai‘i, the spirit of aloha extends to every wagging tail.
