Puppy, Make My Day!

The Eastwood Ranch Foundation Story

And here’s a description that gives the episode a nice narrative arc—from a dream on paper to the finished sanctuary:

Several years ago, AnimalZone visited Alison Eastwood in Agoura Hills to hear about an ambitious dream: creating a very special place where rescued dogs and cats could feel safe, loved and at home while waiting for families of their own.

At the time, there wasn’t much to see. The future Eastwood Ranch Foundation facility was little more than concrete outlines marking where the buildings, rooms and animal spaces would someday stand. But Alison could already see exactly what it could become.

Now, AnimalZone returns—and what a difference a few years can make.

We reunite with Alison and discover that those concrete outlines have become a remarkable reality: a warm, thoughtfully designed rescue and adoption center capable of caring for as many as 50 dogs and 30 cats at a time.

For Alison and her husband, rescuing and fostering animals is nothing new. They have been opening their home and their hearts to animals in need for years. But the Eastwood Ranch Foundation facility takes that commitment to an entirely new level, providing rescued animals with a loving environment where they can receive the care, attention and socialization they need before moving on to their forever homes.

And finding that perfect home sometimes requires a little courtship.

The Foundation offers prospective adopters the opportunity to foster an animal for two weeks before making the final commitment—a chance for human and animal to discover whether they're truly right for one another. Think of it as going on a couple of dates before deciding whether you're ready for marriage!

Along the way, Alison shares the philosophy behind the Foundation, introduces us to some of its irresistible residents, and shows us what can happen when a lifelong love of animals is transformed into something lasting.

What began as lines drawn in concrete has become a place filled with wagging tails, purrs, second chances—and new beginnings.

Go ahead, puppy… make my day!
